The City of Garden Ridge and the Garden Ridge Lions are co-sponsoring a blood drive on December 12th and 13th from 9am to 3pm at the Garden Ridge Community and Event Center. The South Texas Blood and Tissue Center estimate needing 500 donors a day to keep up with demand. The South Texas Blood and Tissue Center wouldn't ask citizens to donate blood without continuing to keep you safe during the COVID-19 health emergency. If you wish to donate, then there will be safety guidelines followed. One of these guidelines is that donations can only be set by appointment. This allows them to control donor flow.
In addition, the following safety measures will be implemented: social distancing guidelines with proper spacing at check-in areas, donor chairs, etc. Masks will be worn by employees and the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center asks donors wear them too.
