Library Activities

As everyone is aware, COVID-19 has presented a huge problem to our country.

Therefore, the City of Garden Ridge has decided to take the precaution of closing the City Library, effective March 13.

This includes all classes as well as checking out materials. The reopening date is subject to change based on evolving recommendations from health officials.

Our goal is to limit any community transmission of the COVID-19 coronavirus. We are listening to state and local leaders as they recommend that people not congregate in groups and observe social distancing. We will continue to evaluate the real and potential threat of the disease on our local community. Please visit us on our website or social media pages for further information.

Remember, you can get reading materials on the Libby app and SimplyE app. No late fees will be assessed during the time we are closed. Feel free to call us at 210-651-6570 for any instructions on how to use them.

We appreciate your understanding and support during these unprecedented circumstances, and we hope to welcome you to the Library again very soon!

Help for Libby

There is another app called SimplyE that you may use as well. If you haven’t used it yet, here are simple instructions:

  • Download the SimplyE app from the Apple or Google Play store
  • Open the app
  • Find your library
  • Search or browse for ebooks and audiobooks
  • Click on “Get” when you find the title you want
  • The first time only, you must type in your library barcode number and PIN (phone number) without spaces or dashes; this information is now saved
  • Read (or listen) and enjoy!

I hope this helps! SimplyE of Amigos continues to be available to you if you need help –
