Public Works
Responsibilities
The Public Works Department consists of streets, drainage, facility maintenance, parks, and animal control within the City of Garden Ridge.

The department is overseen by the director of public works and his staff, consisting of a crew leader and two employees that fill the positions of public service representatives II.

The Public Works Department performs routine maintenance on city facilities and infrastructure with large projects being contracted.

Stormwater is also a responsibility of the Public Works Department.  The City of Garden Ridge has created a stormwater plan to help prevent pollution to local creeks and streams.

Cities located within an urbanized area, that meet minimum qualifications as determined by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), are required to comply with stormwater regulations as outlined by state MS4 requirements.
