The Municipal Court of Garden Ridge, Texas has existed since 1972. More people, citizens and non-citizens alike, come in personal contact with municipal courts than all other Texas courts combined. The municipal judge and court clerk have pledged to be ever mindful of their neutrality and impartiality, rendering equal service to all, and conform to the standards set by the Canons of Judicial Conduct.

The Garden Ridge Municipal Court plays a significant role in preserving the quality of our community through the adjudication of traffic offenses, ensuring a high level of traffic safety for our citizens.


The Garden Ridge Municipal Court handles all Class C misdemeanor traffic and city ordinance violations written by the Garden Ridge Police department.

Court Business Hours

Administrative Hours of Operation: 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday

If you are over 17 years old, you may be able to pay citations, process dismissal requests, or make arrangements for defensive driving, deferred disposition or a payment extension before your court date.
 
 
Court Hours of Operation

Municipal court is generally held on one Thursday of the Month. The Court room is located inside City Hall. Please check your citation. Court starts at 6 p.m. If you are not scheduled for a court docket you may not be admitted to the courtroom.

Court Appearance
You must appear either in person, by mail, or through an attorney. A telephone call does not constitute an appearance.

Please note: The Municipal Court clerks cannot make judgments on any of the cases processed. They also cannot give legal advice or dismiss cases. These are all duties of the judge. The clerks will assist you in any way possible to process paperwork and provide information.

Continuances are not  granted by a telephone call. You must either come in person, or fax a request to 210-651-9638 for a reset for the next court date. Only one reset may be granted by the court judge.

Failure to Appear
By signing your citation, you promise to appear in court to answer to the charges brought against you. If you fail to appear in court, a warrant for your arrest will be issued.
